After the events of last May when Oscar de Alfonso consecrated a new Grand Chapter in Peru without possessing the necessary powers or qualifications to do so.

After the issuing of a letter of protest from the Supreme Grand Chapter of Scotland, which was sent on the 29^th of May 2019, for the act of consecration of a new Supreme Grand Chapter in Peru by Oscar de Alfonso, First Grand Principle of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Spain and Grand Master of the G.L.E., there are strong rumours that today the Recognition Supreme Grand Chapter of Spain will be suspended according to British sources.

We have to look back at earlier in the year when Oscar de Alfonso, First Grand Principle of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Spain, consecrated a new Grand Chapter in Peru without any authority whatsoever.  Scotland, who are the highest authority of the order, considered this an act of usurpation of powers and removed the recognition of this new Grand Chapter in Peru in the following letter:

Also, the Grand Council of Peru lashed out at the Grand Master, Oscar de Alfonso, issuing a very strong letter admonishing him in the most extreme terms.

In a strong letter, the Grand Council of Peru, in a letter sent on the 7^th June 2019, accusing Oscar de Alfonso of installing a “Supreme Grand Chapter without informing himself of the actual situation in Peru”, “demonstrating a great irresponsible abuse of his powers as an authority and showing a complete disrespect for the Grand Chapter of Scotland.”

They also confirmed that all this had been orchestrated by the Most Excellent Companion, Oscar de Alfonso of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Spain, who gave assurances that everything was in order to the trusting assisting brethren who were to assist in the consecration, who were also told that it was with the knowledge and permission of Scotland (which was also posted in his Facebook page).

If this is correct, then Oscar d Alfonso has compromised his office of Grand Master of the G.L.E., which will cause great distress to the British brethren of the G.L.E. and lose him the few British supporters that he has left.  The United Grand Lodge of England has opened a dossier on the matter and can study the removal of recognition of the G.L.E. because of the constant serious irregularities committed by the Grand Master.
